Green Debate Tournaments
Join the Green Debate Tournaments this May! Are you passionate about the environment and ready to test your debating skills? Join us this May for two online tournaments, which are part of the Empowering youth work for the green debate project.
We invite you to participate in the Green Debate Online Tournaments on May 10 and May 31, 2025. Designed for high school debaters, both events will follow the World Schools format, with topics focused on climate change, environmental responsibility, and the green transition. Motions will draw from the Empowering Youth Work for the Green Debate project, including a mystery topic based on our climate e-learning resources.
The tournaments are open to all experience levels, from beginners to national team members, and will be held entirely online via Zoom and Discord. Registration is free, and each team must provide at least one adjudicator. For teams with difficulty finding a judge, we may be able to help depending on availability.
You may join one or both tournaments, and each will follow the same one-day schedule with three preliminary rounds and results announced the same day.
The events offer a unique opportunity for students to build debate skills while engaging with urgent issues facing our planet. To register or inquire about adjudicating, please fill out the registration form. The detailed schedule and motion list are available in the full invitation.
