IDEA Debate Exchange 2026

Location: Brno, the Czech Republic
Dates: 24–29 August 2026
Venue: Avanti Hotel, Brno
Travel costs: reimbursed based on IDEA travel policy, for participants from EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme.

What to expect

This year's programme is participant-driven from the very beginning. We have prepared three core topics, and participants are invited to propose additional sessions through the registration form.

• Running a debate organisation: sustainability, generational change and keeping your volunteer (and employee) base alive
• Grant writing: Erasmus+, CERV and other funding opportunities
• Debate methodology: sharing training approaches, coaching practices and youth work in general

Each organisation is expected to contribute at least two session ideas. The more proposals we receive, the richer the programme will be for everyone.

Who can participate

• IDEA member organisations: 2–4 participants per organisation
• Non-member organisations: Up to 2 participants
• Self-funded participants: Open for a fee of xxx,yy € per person (subject to availability)

All participants must be at least 18 years of age. The event is geared toward organisational staff and adult volunteers. We encourage senior representatives to attend the General Assembly as voting members.
