PEACE Debate Event in Tilburg
On 8 March 2026, we came together in Tilburg through the PEACE project for a very interactive event - dedicated to young people’s mental health and well-being!
The aim of the event was to explore how aware young people are of mental health issues, what steps they can take to support their own well-being, and where they can turn to for professional help when needed. Through critical thinking and real-life case analysis, we examined different situations and explored possible approaches to the challenges young people face today.
Working in groups and developing ideas through debate methods, we discussed practical steps young people can take to protect and improve their mental health, how mental health is portrayed in the media, and how to identify trustworthy information and resources. They also explored where to seek professional support and the importance of knowing when and how to ask for help.
Exchanging perspectives through analyzing real-life scenarios was at the core of this event, as participants were keen enough to do it even without further encouragement. We looked beyond common assumptions, question the information they encounter, and develop a better understanding of mental health and the resources available to them. The event provided a space for young people to learn from one another, share ideas, and strengthen their critical thinking skills while addressing a topic that affects their everyday lives.
