IDEA Youth Forum 2022

We are happy to announce that the IDEA Youth Forum 2022 will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from August 27th to September 4th. 

This year's forum will feature two tracks: the Trainer, and the Fundraising and Implementation track. The event will also feature the yearly IDEA General Assembly.

Trainer Track

The trainer track (TT) is a course that focuses on debate methodology and the quality of debate education. Participants will be offered content on becoming a better debate trainer, innovative approaches, or sharing methods that have shown quality in everyday use. The aim is that participants will not only become strong debate trainers themselves but also that they can strengthen the trainer pools of participating organizations locally.

For that reason, the ideal candidate for the Trainer Track is someone who has already had some experience offering training in debate – or another training area.

Fundraising and Implementation Track

The Fundraising and Implementation Track (FIT) will focus on capacity building for debate organizations and staff. A particular focus is placed on improving a debate program from the perspective of an administrator of a regional or national umbrella organization – the typical IDEA member.

The track will include workshops on fundraising, including an overview of fundraising schemes and calls available to debate organizations, as well as good practice examples, application building, and high-quality project idea and activity identification.

We highly recommend sending organizations to ensure individuals participating in the Fundraising and Implementation Track are experienced organization staff or highly motivated to remain engaged on the organizational level in the near (hopefully far) future.
