IDEA Youth Forum 2022 in Ljubljana kicks off

IDEA Youth Forum 2022 in Ljubljana kicks off

A week packed with workshops, exchange of good practices, and exploring opportunities for cooperation brings together 65 debate organisation representatives from 17 countries.

Our Youth Forum is back once again, thankfully in person. Building on the foundation set at the last year's edition of the Forum in Zagreb, Croatia, this year we have gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to discuss all things debate.

The event is co-funded by the European Union through an Erasmus+ Key Action 1 grant and features two tracks - a youth trainer track and an organization support track, with our 65 participants from 17 countries able to attend and deliver workshops on various topics.

So far we had open discussions on how IDEA can further support its member organisations and the further development of accessible debate programmes for young people across Europe and globally, had the opportunity to attend workshops on grant opportunities and project coordination, increasing project visibility, engaging local communities in debates on issues relevant to them, improving the environmental impact of our work, as well as supporting young people in debate-based learning and different methods in youth work.

We are especially thankful to our members and friends from the Ukranian organisation New Vision who presented their past projects and current activities to support their community during the event. We would like to use this opportunity as a reminder for our ongoing campaign "Debate Community: United for Ukraine" - please find the details here.

We hope this annual event continues to support our growing network of debate-based organisations in increasing the quality and reach of their youth work, offering not-for-profit educational opportunities to young people, including those with fewer opportunities.
