IDEA helps strengthen youth worker capacity with Active Youth Hubs
Are young people consumers or citizens? In many cases, they can be both. Youth work should help young people develop their skills both as entrepeneurs and as citizens.
IDEA has joined an international consortium, consisting of organisations from The Netherlands, Greece, and Romania to help strengthen youth work's impact for entrepeneurship and citizenship of youth. The “Active Youth Hub” consortium focuses on addressing the needs of youth workers and, especially, those who work with underprivileged youth, with limited access to the adequate resources and to professional development opportunities.
The project aims to develop guidelines for effective youth work. It helps implement these guidelines through a set of serious games, which will include a digital escape room and card game. The materials are underpinned by and support academic research into effective youth work. The findings in the field will help build a policy document with advice to policy makers on how to strengthen the quality of youth work.
You can find out more info about the project on our Project Page. This project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
