IDEA Debate Exchange 2026 – Registrations Already Open

Dates: 24–29 August 2026

This year's Debate Exchange is participant-driven from the very beginning. We believe the programme should reflect what our members actually need, both in terms of learning something new and sharing hard-earned experience with others. That is why we are asking all participants to tell us in advance what topics they would like to learn about and what they can offer.

We have prepared three core topics that we expect to be of most interest:

• Running a debate organisation: sustainability, generational change and keeping your volunteer (and employee) base alive
• Grant writing: Erasmus+, CERV and other funding opportunities
• Debate methodology: sharing training approaches, coaching practices and youth work in general

You can choose which of the tracks you’d like to attend or propose others in the registration form. 
Each organisation is expected to contribute at least onesession ideas, but we encourage everyone to share a proposal. The more workshop proposals we receive, the richer and more useful the programme will be for all of our participants.
 

• Travel costs & accomodation will be reimbursed based on IDEA travel policy, for participants from EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme.
• Accommodation and meals will be provided at the Avanti Hotel, Brno. All sessions and workshops will take place at the same hotel.

• IDEA Members that are based in EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme: May register 2 to 4 participants. Travel can be booked immediately upon registration.
• Non-member organisations: May register up to 2 participants. If you have more, please contact Jakub at jakub@idebate.net 
• Self-funded Participants (and IDEA members from third countries not associated with the programme): Participation is open for a fee of 540,00 € per person. Confirmation is subject to availability, so please wait for our email before making travel arrangements..
