Help shape the first Global State of Debate report

IDEA is calling on debate organisations world wide to help us map debate education across the globe. We are launching a survey, through which we aim to understand who are the organisations using debate, how do they work, who do they reach, and what impact they are able to achieve.

This is the first time debate organisations everywhere will be mapped together in a single, systematic study. The accuracy and value of that evidence depends entirely on participation. If your organisation runs debate programmes, whether debate is your core mission or one small part of what you do, we need your data to build an accurate picture.

The survey takes 30 to 45 minutes and your progress saves automatically, so you can pick it up later if needed. The findings will form the evidence base for IDEA's first Global State of Debate report, a tool we will use as part of our advocacy for stronger recognition and support of debate education worldwide. Please help us build this evidence base. The survey closes on August 13, 2026.
