Romania will host European Schools Debate Championship 2025

Bucharest, Romania, has been selected as the host city for the 2025 European Schools Debating Championship (EuroSDC).

The second edition of EuroSDC will be hosted by our Romanian member ARDOR, in Bucharest from February 27. to March 2nd 2025.

The 2025 EuroSDC in Bucharest aims to create a space where young debaters from across Europe can engage in thoughtful discussions and exchange ideas. Last year, the inaugural European Schools Debating Championship took place in Prague and gathered over 100 participants from 20 countries engaged in debates on topics such as transnational electoral lists and EU education policies.

Since its establishment in 1998, ARDOR has been a key player in the debate community, developing on of the most widspread debate education programs in Europe, implementing debate educaiton in various different settins and regularly hosting national and international debate tournaments. The team responsible for organizing the 2025 championship includes Ioan Junior Ganea, Robert Ciugolia, and Theodora Simion, all of whom bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.

Bucharest, a city that combines historical charm with modern energy, will provide an engaging backdrop for the championship. Participants will have the chance to explore its diverse offerings, from the picturesque old town to the bustling city center. The event will be held at the Academy of Economic Studies, located in the heart of the city, making it easily accessible for all attendees.
