As the scope of our work grows we are looking for additional full time and part time staff in administrative, organisational and fundraising positions

The International Debate Education Association is seeking experienced individuals to join our team. We offer you the opportunity to lead implementation of impactful projects and events that align with IDEA's mission.

Location: Utrecht / Remote

Start Date: Q2 2024

Contract Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with existing members, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed while enhancing their engagement with IDEA.
  • Strategically expand IDEA's network by identifying and establishing connections with potential members and stakeholders relevant to the organization’s objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among IDEA members and stakeholders to support the mutual exchange of ideas, resources, and best practices.
  • Organize and manage stakeholder meetings, including round-tables, workshops, and conferences, both online and in-person, to promote IDEA’s initiatives and gather input for future projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies for stakeholder engagement that align with IDEA’s mission and maximize the impact of its programs.
  • Provide ongoing support and consultation to IDEA members on project development, funding opportunities, and organizational growth.
  • Actively promote IDEA’s values and programs, ensuring that the organization's message reaches a broad and appropriate audience.
  • Coordinate joint projects and events with IDEA members and other stakeholders, ensuring they align with organizational goals and demonstrate measurable outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in relationship management, stakeholder engagement, or a similar role within a nonprofit or educational organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with a diverse range of individuals and organizations.
  • Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-suite applications.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values and mission of IDEA.
  • Legal eligibility to work within the EU.

Additional strengths:

  • Experience in managing membership in non-profit or educational organizations.
  • Background in or understanding of debate programs and their educational value.
  • Previous involvement in international projects and familiarity with international educational funding bodies, including EU programs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing engagement strategies tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Organizing IDEA events, ensuring they are executed smoothly and meet organizational objectives.
  • Support to IDEA members organizing events.
  • On-site event management including travel to destination
  • Creating comprehensive reports on events and projects to assess impact and inform future planning.
  • Actively promoting IDEA and its various activities
  • Providing support to ensure the seamless functioning of IDEA, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in project management, event organization, and fundraising.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and G-suite environment.
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong commitment to IDEA's mission and values.
  • Legal eligibility to work (EU resident status).

Additional strengths:

  • Experience in designing, developing, and applying for project proposals and funding applications to diverse sources, including EC programs, national E+ and ESC agencies, UN education&democracy funds, and other private and institutional donors.
  • Experience in volunteering in debate programs.
  • Experience in working in debate programs.
  • Current work with national debate programs
